Welcome to the Monday Mailing Vol 2, Ed 9 – Clearing Up Some (Possible) Mis-Conceptions
(And how to connect over this coming candidating weekend)
Yesterday morning was the first time we used the next tech setup in the Sanctuary for our worship. And, as is typical, we learned what we didn’t know! Some were fixes that could be made on the spot, and some were ones which our Tech Guy from Dream Lab took care of after the service. VERY IMPORTANT – if you have been following our worship on any of your various devices, there is nothing different that you need to do to access our worship! The changes are in the sanctuary and are concerned with how we capture the service for you. You are fine. Most of our difficulties were on the Sanctuary end of things, and not on your end.
All microphones have now been tested and are within the proper ranges. We have no idea what happened when my mic dropped out mid-service. . .neither I, nor the tech folks had done a thing. The best way to communicate a problem with any part of the Zoom is to put a note in the Chat. If you are using a computer, laptop or tablet of any kind for your Zoom experience, you are able to use the Chat feature. If you are using a SMARTPHONE, the chat feature is also available to you, but you might need to hit a button or two to access it. This keeps interruptions in the worship to a minimum.
One of the important reasons for moving to this new Tech Setup was to be able to let the preacher concentrate on the worship service and not the details of it. What this means is I no longer see the Joys and Concerns on my laptop. . .and while we have angled the projection screen over the door to the right of the pulpit, the writing is tremendously small. In the next few weeks we will be working something out in this area. Look for more information in upcoming communications.
If you have been on Zoom with us for worship this past year, there is nothing new which you need to do. If you are joining this coming weekend’s activities (including worship on February 28) you do not need to download the Zoom app (on any of your devices), simply tap on the link we provide every week, and you will be taken to the meeting.
Remember, if you are having issues with connecting to the church, please let me know. . .we want to keep connected in all these times.
Peace –
Pastor Janice
